We feed people delicious food that makes them healthier and happier. In everything we do, our mission is to nourish people, nurture the planet and cultivate community.

Role Overview

We're seeking a Treasurer to help shape the financial future of our community farm, to provide financial oversight and business guidance while working alongside our dedicated team. This non-operational role focuses on strategic input rather than day-to-day bookkeeping. • Work with the staff team to maintain insightful and useful financial forecasts and financial reporting, including a monthly 1:1 with the Operations Manager
  • Support preparation of the annual accounts (with the Finance Coordinator, Operations Manager and accountants) and other statutory documents
  • Present accounts and finance update at the Annual Members Meeting
  • Provide oversight of the farm’s financial processes and controls, ensuring we meet appropriate legal and accounting standards
  • Attend and participate in bi-monthly committee meetings
  • Contribute approximately six hours each month to committee work
  • Serve a three-year term on the committee

Desired Skills

  • Three or more years experience of financial management in a business, charity or social enterprise, ideally a small organisation of fewer than 50 people
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Relevant financial qualification (ideal, not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to responsibilities
  • Ability to build relationships based on trust, collaboration and empathy
  • Interest in sustainable food production

Benefits and Development Opportunities

  • Contribute to strategic planning and ethical business development

Additional benefits include

  • 20% discount on our online farm shop

  • Participation in staff training opportunities
  • Travel expense reimbursement (up to £10 per meeting)
