Baker/Pastry Chef — Havn, Bridge of Allan

Full-Time | 4-Day Week | £29,000–£32,000 | Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire

Havn is a Danish inspired bakery at the heart of Bridge of Allan’s bustling high street. Producing a range of viennoiserie, cakes and sourdough breads on a daily basis for sale in store as well as fulfilling a small number of wholesale orders. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pastry Baker to join our team. This is a full-time, four-day week position suited to someone with a solid grounding in pastry work who is looking to develop their career in a small but growing business.

The Role

Working as part of a close-knit kitchen team, you will be responsible for the daily production of pastries, viennoiserie, and baked goods to a consistently high standard. You will have the opportunity to contribute to menu development and bring your own ideas to our seasonal offering.

  • Preparing, baking and decorating a full range of pastries and baked goods each day
  • Producing consistently high-quality laminated products — croissants, pain au chocolate, pain suisse — with confidence and precision
  • Managing proofing and production schedules accurately and efficiently
  • Contributing to new product development and seasonal menu planning
  • Upholding food hygiene and kitchen safety standards at all times
  • Collaborating with other bakers and front-of-house to ensure smooth daily service

The Candidate

  • 1–2 years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen
  • Sound knowledge of core pastry techniques with a willingness to keep developing
  • Strong lamination skills and a confident hand with viennoiserie
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient manner to complete daily production
  • High attention to detail and a consistent approach to quality
  • Able to work early morning shifts as required by the role (4am start)
  • Must be able to lift 25kg in a safe and controlled manner
  • A reliable team player who communicates well and contributes positively to the working environment
