About Chelsea Physic Garden

Chelsea Physic Garden is London's oldest botanic garden, situated on the Thames Embankment. We were founded by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 1673 to study plants and their medicinal properties. Today we are a charity open to the public to help share the importance of plants for the survival of living kind. In 2023 the Garden turns 350 and for this anniversary we are working toward the restoration of our Victoria Glasshouses.
