Job description

The PSC Co-Facilitator supports the delivery, relational culture, and practical flow of the Practical Sustainability Course alongside the Lead PSC Facilitator.

£11,700 per year/ £15 per hr (pro rata equivalent of £29,250 FTE)

The role combines:

  • practical facilitation support

  • student relationship building

  • logistical coordination

  • progressive facilitation development through mentorship and collaborative practice

The Co-Facilitator acts as a consistent supportive presence within the student experience while developing confidence, skills, and leadership capacity within a supported facilitation structure.

The role is designed as both:

  • an operational facilitation role

  • a developmental mentorship pathway into deeper facilitation responsibility over time

The role is primarily shaped by:

  • Collaborative facilitation and delivery support 

  • Student relationship and group support 

  • Practical coordination and logistics

  • Learning, mentorship, and facilitation development 

  • Group culture and participation support 

 

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative Course Facilitation

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Facilitator in holding the flow and delivery of the PSC. 

  • Co-facilitate check-ins, reflections, activities, and integration spaces.

  • Help maintain group agreements and inclusive learning culture. 

  • Support smooth transitions, practical exercises, and session flow. 

  • Build trusting and approachable relationships with students. 

Student Support & Group Awareness

Core Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety of the students and tutors.

  • Notice and respond appropriately to student participation and wellbeing needs. 

  • Support inclusive participation and accessibility within sessions. 

  • Feed observations and concerns back to the Lead Facilitator where appropriate. 

  • Support healthy communication and relational accountability within the group. 

Practical Coordination & Delivery Support

Core Responsibilities

  • Support venue setup, materials, equipment, and practical preparation. 

  • Assist tutors and facilitators with delivery logistics. 

  • Follow organisational systems and contribute to their iterative development.

  • Support attendance tracking, sign-ins, and practical coordination. 

  • Help maintain safe and well-organised learning environments. 

  • Support coordination and participation of students on field trips and practical sessions.

Facilitation Learning & Mentorship

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop facilitation skills through supported practice and mentorship. 

  • Participate in reflective conversations with the Lead Facilitator. 

  • Gradually build confidence in independently holding aspects of course delivery. 

  • Engage actively in feedback, learning, and collaborative reflection processes.
