Job description

Flourish Produce is a unique farm in the UK. We grow an unparalleled diversity of organic vegetables, herbs and salads across 80 acres, directly supplying London restaurants and our farm shop. Our farm is built on exceptional produce, agroecological farming practices, and genuine care in everything we do.

We're a team of 30+ people united by a commitment to regenerative farming and a partnership with the customers we serve.

The Role

As an Organic Grower, you'll be part of the team responsible for growing the diverse range of crops throughout the seasons. This is a hands-on, farm-based role, working outdoors throughout the year and alongside an experienced growing team.

Given the scale and diversity of our farm, the work changes with the seasons. One day might involve sowing and planting, another harvesting, weeding or preparing beds. You'll get involved in all aspects of the growing cycle, from establishing crops through to harvest, as well as general farm tasks and maintenance.

You'll receive training and support from the wider growing team, while gradually taking responsibility for particular crops, areas or tasks. We're looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work and wants to develop their skills as a grower.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sowing, planting and establishing crops;

  • Weeding, crop maintenance and crop protection;

  • Harvesting a wide range of vegetables, herbs and salads;

  • Preparing beds and carrying out general field work;

  • Irrigation

  • Supporting post-harvest handling and packing of produce;

  • General farm maintenance and seasonal tasks;

  • Working safely, efficiently and with care;

  • Taking responsibility for allocated crops, areas or tasks;

  • Working collaboratively with the wider growing team.

Who You Are

This could be a great role for an experienced grower looking for their next farm, or for someone earlier in their career with the right attitude and a genuine passion for growing.

You'll be positive, proactive and flexible, with the ability to adapt as priorities change. You communicate well, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and are comfortable working hard and staying calm under pressure.

Commercial growing experience is preferred, but we're open to people with less experience who demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in organic or commercial growing is preferred, but not essential;

  • Genuine interest in organic and agroecological farming;

  • Good communication and a positive attitude;

  • Proactive, flexible and willing to get stuck in;

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team;

  • Reliability and accountability;

  • Ability to work at pace and under pressure;

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift 25kg+;

  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather;

  • Willingness to learn and take on responsibility.

What We Offer

Starting at £12.75/hour, dependent on experience, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday.

  • Full-time, year-round employment;

  • Training and opportunities to develop your growing skills;

  • Farm produce and flowers from our harvest;

  • Discount in our farm shop and café.

The Schedule

Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. This is a full-time, year-round position at Flourish Produce in Cambridgeshire.
