Love food and want your work to mean something?

We are growing our freelance team in Swansea and looking for brilliant people who can cook, connect and get stuck in.

The Shared Plate brings people together around good food. One day that might mean helping children discover the confidence to cook for their families; another might mean creating a joyful seasonal feast for a wedding. Both sides of our work share the same belief: food can build skills, strengthen relationships and create real social change.

We are recruiting

• Freelance Community Cooking Facilitators with experience of cooking and facilitating groups. You might have worked with children, teenagers, people with additional learning needs, adults or older people. We need calm, creative facilitators who can make a kitchen feel safe, welcoming and full of possibility.
• Freelance Catering Chefs from experienced Chef de Partie to Sous Chef and Head Chef level. We need organised, adaptable cooks who care about flavour, presentation and sourcing, and who can deliver beautiful food when the pace picks up.

You do not need to fit a conventional mould. We value practical experience, strong instincts, reliability and the ability to work generously with other people. Project-specific induction and training will be provided.

Location: Swansea and surrounding areas

Contract: Freelance, offered according to programme or event needs

Rate: £15–£19.50 for Facilitator work and £14–£20 for Chef work, according to experience and level of responsibility
