Job description

About the Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN)

The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is a farmer-led organisation helping farmers restore the balance between farming and nature. We support farmers by sharing knowledge, resources and case studies that help boost food production, protect wildlife, and build climate resilience.

We influence policy to secure fair rewards for farmers who care for nature, and we connect like-minded farmers across the UK.

Our network is open to all: farmers, the public and partner organisations.

About the Role

We are looking for an Operations Officer to help NFFN run smoothly as a fully remote team. Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, you will coordinate everyday administration, recruitment and HR processes, routine IT and systems setup, and practical support for meetings and events.

You will keep records and arrangements organised, help colleagues with routine processes, follow up outstanding actions and improve the way we work. You will also provide practical support to the Communications team with Eventbrite pages, printed resources and event materials when needed.

In this varied role, you will:

  • Coordinate travel, meetings, bookings, purchases and general administration

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, staff records and training administration

  • Coordinate routine staff accounts, access and equipment setup, escalating technical or security issues

  • Keep records, trackers and shared information accurate and up to date

  • Proactively seek missing information, follow up actions and help colleagues meet deadlines

  • Help improve and document clear, repeatable administrative processes

  • Support Eventbrite setup, printed resource stock and straightforward communications administration using agreed content

  • Liaise with colleagues and suppliers to make sure practical arrangements are completed

You will be organised, proactive and comfortable prioritising competing requests in a remote team. You will have practical experience in administration, operations or coordination, communicate clearly, handle confidential information carefully and be confident with digital tools. Relevant experience matters more than formal qualifications; previous HR or non-profit experience is welcome but not essential.

This role is home-based in the UK. Occasional travel to meetings and events may be needed, with reasonable notice. We welcome conversations about reasonable adjustments.
