Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to be in at the start of a new venture based at No 93, Church Lane, Harpurhey, a recently reopened Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust community facility. As a Café & Kitchen Assistant you will be working as part of a team who ensure the delivery of a consistent, high-quality meal service assisting with all aspects of food preparation, food service, kitchen hygiene and other duties associated with the running of the kitchen and food service operations. 

The key tasks include:

  1.       Work as part of the Food team developing dishes and food products that support people with healthy living.
  2.       Assist in the preparation and cooking of a range of hot and cold food items.
  3.       Serve food with exceptional customer service providing a knowledgeable service at all times, in particular with regard to allergens and other dietary requirements.
  4.       Assist in the sale, service and clearing of all food, beverages and utensils.
  5.       Operate a cash and card till and any other items of catering machinery or equipment, as directed.
  6.       Assist with routine and deep cleaning of the kitchen, food storage, service and dining areas, including heavy and light equipment and machinery, crockery and cutlery, in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  7.       Follow established kitchen systems and procedures to guarantee an efficient and organised meal service.
  8.       Receive deliveries, ensure correct stock rotation ensuring that all perishable and non-perishable commodities are stored under the correct conditions.
  9.        Undertake other duties as required to meet the organisational needs.
