Deadline: 24/04/2021

Compensation: £25,000-£30,000 per annum

Paid Full-time Permanent

Job description

The company is celebrating 20 years of healthy baking and is based in Whitstable, Kent. The founder is due to retire and is looking to build a fantastic new management team!

Following a 5-year research and implementation into machinery and plastic-free packaging we are now extremely well equipped and have capacity to build the business into its next phase, but there are also huge challenges in the form of global shortages of ingredients, Brexit and potentially huge price rises. Being a small business we are also agile enough to switch to different ingredients and styles of food. These amazing opportunities and challenges require people who live an organic lifestyle themselves and are inspired by working with good organic food without additives and have the technical knowledge.

We see our opportunity particularly in the field of personalised nutrition – bread and baked items are the most basic and yet often the most damaging foods for human health. We offer an exciting, tasty and healthy alternative and enjoy a huge following. Come and join us!

Multi award-winning bakery including ‘Most Supportive to Nutrition Health Professionals’ by The Institute for Functional Medicine & ‘World Bread Awards’. Since 2014 we are a purely gluten-free organic bakery. We mainly sell online with some export. We enjoy the support of around 6000 regular customers. We have enquiries from all over the world and new opportunities can be found continuously.

In collaboration with a large German manufacturer we have developed a unique fermentation product which would enable consumers and commercial bakeries anywhere in the world to make healthy bread from indigenous starchy crops. The product promises a long shelf life and has a number of potential health claims. We want to develop it into an eco-friendly baking kit using new future-proof technologies. This project requires technical knowledge and cooperation across a few sectors. At the moment this project is on hold due to Covid.

You live an organic lifestyle so you can identify with our market and our customers. Ideally, our products are already part of your diet. We are a scent-free workplace and require you to not use chemical perfumes due to allergies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Microsoft Office, Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food management or experience.
  • Product development.
  • Business skills.
  • Experience with selling online.
  • Bakery, food supplement or manufacturing experience would be a bonus.
  • Knowledge of food laws.
  • Interest in personalised nutrition.
  • Knowledge of labelling laws and EU legislation.
  • Food marketing skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety in the food industry.

Terms are negotiable. There may be some help with re-location and finding accomodation if you require it.
