Job description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Baker to join our team. Monday to Friday, 45 hours Monday & Tuesday 2am – 11.30am Wednesday – Friday 11am – 8.30pm.

You must have professional experience with sourdough and specialty breads, hand moulding, mixing and oven work. You should also have experience handmaking pastry and viennoiserie including, various croissants, Danish, brioche; working with a dough break; making croissant dough, puff pastry etc from scratch.

This is a very busy professional environment. You must be reliable, have good spoken English and be passionate about good quality food. You will be working closely with our senior baker and the owner chef and must be presentable – you will be working in an open kitchen. You must also be willing to learn.

We are a busy award winning fine food bakery with an excellent reputation for producing some of the best baked food in the UK. Everything is made from scratch on the premises including all pastry, viennoiserie, sourdough breads, pies, cakes, tarts, jams etc. Everything is handmade using fresh and seasonal produce and we don’t use anything artificial so no ‘improvers’, fillers or stabilisers.

On the Monday and Tuesday shifts you will be responsible for the bread and pastry bake-off and the rest of the week you will be making pastry and viennoiserie by hand. You must be a self starter and able to work by yourself as well as work well in a team.

We want to talk to people with a creative approach to work, initiative, a love of good food, energy and a can-do attitude. You must have quality professional baking experience. We have an open kitchen and you will interact with our front of house team and our regular customers. 

Applicants must:

  • Be energetic, self motivated and dedicated to doing the best job they can;
  • At all times conduct themselves in a professional manner and be presentable;
  • Have quality professional experience;
  • Be on time for their shifts;
  • Speak English fluently;
  • Be trustworthy;
  • Familiar with HACCP;
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.

The position is permanent full time, you must be able to work school holidays.
