London Farmers’ Markets is opening a new Farmers’ Market in Leytonstone this September (12th) and is looking for two market managers to work at the market. London Farmers' Markets opened its first market in 1999 in Islington, the first pioneering farmers' market in the capital. Currently around 200 farmers and food producers sell at over 20 weekly farmers' markets. We enable farmers to sell their products direct to the consumer so that they get a fair price for their work.
The responsibility of the market manager is to assist with the markets’ operations: This includes: opening and closing the site, positioning stalls, taking the stall register, putting out market signage, answering customer queries, helping stalls, conducting occasional surveys and writing up a post market report. Our markets go ahead regardless of the weather so you must be prepared to work in all conditions.
The market will take place every Sunday at Buxton School from 10am-2pm. You will be expected on site from 8am-3.30pm so enjoying an early start is necessary . This is a freelance position and you must have a UTR number in order to work.
lease email your CV and a brief covering letter to email@example.com.
Your covering letter should address you interest in food, our markets and the position.
