Heckfield Estates is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual to join its Arboriculture team. You will be looking after the incredible specimen trees in the Arboretum and the various trees and woodlands across the historical estate.
Our landscape has been laid down for over 250 years and includes our 340 acre original Home Farm which is mixed arable and livestock, certified organic and farmed biodynamically. Within the farm there is a five-acre market garden. Across the estate we have ornamental lawns, and gardens, 2 historical clay lined lakes, the chalk lined river White Water and various mixed woodlands. The estate is home to Heckfield Place (www.heckfieldplace.com), a Georgian family home now lovingly restored to a five-star hotel and surrounded by 438 acres of our secluded Hampshire countryside.
We are looking for experienced, hardworking Arborist, but above all, someone who has a genuine passion and appreciation for trees.
You will be working within the amazing historic grounds of the estate and as tree work will be required the relevant chainsaw and climbing qualifications are expected, for example:

The market garden is set over 5 acres, with a large state-of-the-art propagating glasshouse and five polytunnels supporting the vegetable and soft fruit growing, that supply the hotel's two restaurants with beautiful, truly seasonal and delicious produce. There is a young orchard, with more than 500 apple, pear and stoned fruit trees, which is home to our bees and organic chickens. The market garden certified organic and currently in Year 3 conversion to full biodynamic certification.
