School Food Matters
Secondary schools in Ealing and neighbouring boroughs
Compensation: £50 per session/22 sessions
Paid Part-time Fixed term / contract
School Food Matters (SFM) is a registered charity. Our mission is to ensure that every child enjoys fresh sustainable food at school and understands where their food comes from. To achieve this we campaign to improve school meals and devise, develop and deliver food education programmes for schools.
Fresh Enterprise is a programme for secondary schools in and around Ealing. The aim of the project is to give students a chance to experience a career in the food industry and learn more about where their food comes from. Students will learn how to create a delicious pesto or paste without a recipe, discover how food products are marketed, develop their own paste and product label and then present their finished creation to a Tasting Panel.
To enrich this programme, we’re looking for an enthusiastic project officer to support delivery. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience of a food education programme that encompasses cooking, design and enterprise.
If successful, this role could lead into more paid freelance work in the Ealing area with primary and secondary schools.
Flexible: Part-time work between February - May 2019, during school hours
